Adagio - the Choreography Society of Kamala Nehru College stands for dance, drama and music. It performs thematic productions, which address social issues. Adagio is the perfect place for anyone who loves to dance regardless of having past experience or training. Our society gives everyone a chance to train their bodies, perform on stage, interact with various dancers and choreographers from the Delhi Dance Circuit, and above all, to fall deeper in love with dance.
The society has evolved and developed nuances of performing art. The society has grown with the guidance and professional help of well-known choreographers who have trained the team throughout the year. Some of the choreographers in the past years have been Bhavini Misra - Founder of Urshilla Dance Company, Firoz Haider - Founder/Director of India Dans Theatre, Nanda Kumar - Artistic Director, Kalalayam, and Somya Kautia - Program Director, Nritya Shakti. A few productions from previous years include The Trip, Swadesh Anurag, Ab Bas, Mind, Nrittmurat and The Onlooker. Over the years, Adagio has won a lot of accolades across DU and has also been the winner at Mood Indigo - IIT Bombay 2012, Asia's largest cultural festival. The productions have been largely based on contemporary issues. If you love to dance and want to discover your body through movement, Adagio is the place for you!
