To teach, coach and train students, the Department of Physical Education has opted the following games: Athletics, Basketball, Cricket, Football, Kho-Kho and Taekwondo. Training in these games prepares the student to participate actively in the Intercollegiate, Interuniversity and State level competitions and also opens their path to compete in National and International level tournaments.
By participating and getting position in these aforesaid competitions help the students to get admission in the various professional courses in the field of Physical Education and Sports Sciences. Students can take sports as a profession, they can become professional sportsmen, sports event manager, trainer/instructor/ coach, sports journalist, sports goods manufacturer/ marketing executive, sports commentator etc. The department offers Discipline Specific course and Skill Enhancement Course for B.A (P) students.
Department also maintains well-equipped Gymnasium for fitness conscious students to keep them healthy and fit. The department also takes care of NSO activities and conduct classes in Aerobics, Yoga and Taekwondo to promote and enhance a healthy lifestyle and physical fitness. Department also organises lectures for NSO, sports and B.A (P) students on various topics to enlighten them about the latest trends and innovations in the field of health, fitness and sports. The department takes pride in organising the Annual Sports Day. Athletic events and fun races are conducted and demonstrations are prepared by the NSO students for the celebration of Annual Sports Day.
Our two students from B.A (P) 5th Semester represented India in the International Tournaments. Kirti Gupta- (Shooting) 9th Asian Shotgun Championship 2019 and World Cup Shotgun Championship 2021.
