Snapshots, the photography Society of Kamala Nehru College, provides both guidance and platform to young image-makers in college. Besides making cameras affable for more than a decade and sublimating visceral energies to productive fruition, the society organizes competitions and workshops from time to time.
The society attracts photography enthusiasts eager to fine-tune their skills through workshops and expert feedback like a session in collaboration with Pearl Academy on the ‘Fundamentals of Photography’ or ‘How to Improve your Photography’ by renowned photographer Vaibhav Sud. Photo walks, in and out of campus, are regularly organized to sharpen their perspective and observation. In the past, students have also visited places outside Delhi to broaden their horizon. Snapshots members actively make images around the year to find a place in society’s Annual Exhibition, showcasing their talent to wider viewership.
Besides, the society also holds an inter-college online photography competition as a part of Ullas (Annual College Festival) to encourage young talent in university by giving away cash prizes. Previously, the competitions on themes like ‘the power of smile’ and Camoflauged, Nirvana and Subconscious received a warm response from university students.
Snapshots contributes to Students’ Welfare Fund by putting up photo-booths on various occasions like Diwali Mela, Freshers’ Welcome and Farewell.
